چکیده

Cincotti and Iida invented the game of of Synchronized Domineering, and analyzed a few special cases. We developed a more general technique of analysis, and obtained results for many more special cases. This article lists application of our analysis to obtain results for standard two player Domineering Introduction In Synchronized Domineering, exist four possible outcomes:

New results for Domineering from combinatorial game theory endgame databases

We have constructed endgame databases for all single-component positions up to 15 squares for Domineering. These databases have been filled with exact Combinatorial Game Theory (CGT) values in canonical form. We give an overview of several interesting types and frequencies of CGT values occurring in the databases. The most important findings are as follows. First, as an extension of Conway’s [8...

11 x 11 Domineering is Solved: The first player wins

We have developed a program called MUDoS (Maastricht University Domineering Solver) that solves Domineering positions in a very efficient way. This enables the solution of known positions so far (up to the 10 × 10 board) much quicker (measured in number of investigated nodes). More importantly, it enables the solution of the 11 × 11 Domineering board, a board up till now far out of reach of pre...

New Temperatures in Domineering

Games of No Chance [8] presents a table of known Domineering temperatures, including approximately 40 with denominator less than or equal to 512, and poses the challenge of finding new temperatures. We present 219 Domineering positions with distinct temperatures not shown in GONC – including 26 with temperature greater than 3/2 – obtained through exhaustive computational search of several Domin...

Mathematical modeling of planar cell polarity to understand domineering nonautonomy.

Planar cell polarity (PCP) signaling generates subcellular asymmetry along an axis orthogonal to the epithelial apical-basal axis. Through a poorly understood mechanism, cell clones that have mutations in some PCP signaling components, including some, but not all, alleles of the receptor frizzled, cause polarity disruptions of neighboring wild-type cells, a phenomenon referred to as domineering...

The domineering non-autonomy of frizzled and Van Gogh clones in the Drosophila wing is a consequence of a disruption in local signaling

The frizzled (fz) gene is required for the development of distally pointing hairs on the Drosophila wing. It has been suggested that fz is needed for the propagation of a signal along the proximal distal axis of the wing. The directional domineering non-autonomy of fz clones could be a consequence of a failure in the propagation of this signal. We have tested this hypothesis in two ways. In one...
